Dolphins Arena (Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium)

The Dolphins Arena is the home of the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins of the B League (Japan Professional Basketball League). This arena is also the venue for the Summer Grand Sumo Tournament. It is right next to Nagoya Castle.

Getting to the Arena

From JR Nagoya Station

It is about 3 km from JR Nagoya Station to the arena area. It's a bit far to walk.

If you use public transportation, you can use the subway to get to the arena. Take the Higashiyama Line to Sakae Station, change to the Meijo Line at Sakae Station, get off at Shiyakusho Station, and walk 5 minutes. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes from Nagoya Station.

Nagoya Castle, the biggest tourist attraction in Nagoya, is about 2.5 kilometers away from Nagoya Station. It is not impossible to get there on foot from Nagoya Station, but subways or cabs are more convenient.
Kinjo-Futo Station, a 30-minute train ride from Nagoya Station, is home to Legoland and Linia Tekkenkan.
