Hakodate Racecourse was opened in 1896 as the oldest racecourse in Japan. It is managed by the Japan Racing Association (JRA).

From Hakodate Airport
It takes about 10-15 minutes by taxi from Hakodate Airport.
From Hokkaido Shinkansen(Bullet Train) line "Hakodate Hokuto" Station
The Hokkaido Shinkansen "Hakodate-Hokuto Station" is about 20 kilometers from the center of Hakodate. Take the JR Hakodate Line to Hakodate Station, then take the streetcar about 30 minutes to "Keibajo-mae."

Most of the trips from Honshu to Hokkaido take a flight, but if you travel to Hakodate, you have the option of taking a Shinkansen line or airplane because the Hokkaido Shinkansen line connects between Tokyo and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station.
