Rising Zephyr Fukuoka is a team in B2 of the B League (Japan Professional Basketball League).

After starting the 2016-2017 season in B3, Fukuoka was promoted to B2 in one season, and the next season they also won the B2 championship and were promoted to B1.
However, they lost their B1 license and were relegated to B2 due to a lack of funds in the 2018-2019 season after their promotion to B1. Fukuoka's membership in the B-League was in jeopardy, but they have since rebuilt their business and are now a member of B2.

In Fukuoka, Michizane Sugawara, who was said to be the god of learning, is enshrined at Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine.
Legend has it that Michizane Sugawara was transformed into the God of Thunder(Raijin).
The word "Raijin" was combined with the word "Rising" and the Greek god of the west wind, Zephyr, to form the team's name, which means that the team aims for victory together with the god of thunder and the god of wind.
