"Getting there & Around" Tsuyama, Mimasaka

If you are coming from the Tokyo metropolitan area, you can basically take the Tokaido or Sanyo Shinkansen to Okayama Station, and then transfer to a local train to get to Tsuyama.
Even if you use the night bus, it is convenient to take a local train from Okayama Station.

Arrival at Tsuyama Station

It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Okayama Station to Tsuyama Station on the Tsuyama Line. There is also a "Kaisoku Kotobuki-go" train every two hours, which takes about one hour.
The fare is 1170 yen for both the regular train and the rapid Kotobuki.

Transportation in Tsuyama City

In Tsuyama City, access to sightseeing spots and TsuyamaStadium is basically by bus.

Bus

There are two buses in Tsuyama City, the Chutetsu Hokubu Bus and the Gongo Bus.
The Chutetsu Hokubu Bus is convenient to the Okayama Prefecture Tsuyama Athletic Stadium, while the Gongo Bus is convenient to the Tsuyama General Gymnasium and Shurakuen Garden.
The bus is marked by a picture of a kappa on its body, and the fare is a flat 200 yen for adults and 100 yen for children.
