Getting to the Hagi area from the Tokyo metropolitan area takes quite a bit of time.
Probably the shortest way to get there is to fly from Haneda Airport to Ube Airport and then rent a car, but even then it will take 3.5 to 4 hours.
The Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Shin-Yamaguchi Station takes about 4 hours and 30 minutes, and the bus from Shin-Yamaguchi Station to Higashi-Hagi Station takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes, so it still takes more than 6 hours.
