Onomichi Shimanami Baseball Stadium is located in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, and is the stadium where the Hiroshima Toyo Carp sometimes play their open and official games. It is located in the Hiroshima Prefectural Bingo Sports Park, which also has Bing Stadium and a health and sports center.
Getting to the Stadium
Hiroshima Bingo Sports Park is about 5.5 kilometers away from the center of Onomichi City, so the venue is basically accessible by bus or car.
From Onomichi Station, get off at the last stop, Onomichi Industrial Park, and it is a 20-minute walk from the bus stop to the Hiroshima Bingo Sports Park. The journey takes about 30 minutes and the fare is 410 yen.
From the bus stop, return to the slope that the bus came up, and follow the slope up to the Hiroshima Bingo Sports Park. The nearest bus stop is Bingo Athletic Park North Gate, but there are only three buses a day, so it may not be convenient.
It will take about 15 minutes from the center of Onomichi City to Hiroshima Bingo Sports Park. In addition to the parking lots around the Hiroshima Bingo Sports Park, there are approximately 1,000 parking spaces available in the Hiroshima Bingo Sports Park.
About the Stadium
Shimanami Stadium was designed on the model of Koshien Stadium, and although renovations were made in 2007 and 2008 to narrow the foul ground, the stadium remains spacious.
