Chunichi Dragons (Professional Baseball)
Chunichi Dragons are a member of the Central League of professional baseball in Japan.
After winning the Japan championship in 1954, the Chunichi Dragons went on to win the league championship, but did not win the Japan championship. Then came 2007. Under manager Ochiai, the Chunichi Dragons won the Central League for the second year in a row. On to the Japan Series. The Chunichi Dragons advanced to the Japan Series for the second year in a row, following 2006. Their opponent was the Nippon-Ham Fighters, whom they had defeated in the 2006 Japan Series. In Game 5, with the championship on the line, Yamai pitched a historically good game, winning a perfect game in the 8th inning. And in the last inning, Iwase, the holding pitcher, struck out three to win the long-awaited Japan championship.
It's been 53 years since Chunichi Dragons won the Japan Championship.

Nagoya Grampus (J League)
Nagoya Grampus is a team in the J1 of the J-League.
It is one of the original 10 teams that have participated in the J-League since its inaugural year in 1993.
Nagoya Grampus was led by world-renowned coach Arsene Wenger for two seasons in 1995 and 1996, and although they lost the championship to Kashima Antlers in 1996, they won the league championship as an alternative to the championship, as well as the top two teams in the league and the Yamazaki Nabisco Cup. The top two teams in the league and the top two teams in the Yamazaki Nabisco Cup won the Suntory Cup Championship Final.
Nagoya's long awaited victory in J1 came in 2010.
The 2010 season was Stojkovic's third year in charge. In 2010, the third year of Stojkovic's reign, Nagoya enjoyed a historic season of dominating victories, finally winning their first championship in their 18th year in the J-League.

However, they lost to Albulk Tokyo in the first round for the second time in a row and were eliminated.
