Takebishi Stadium Kyoto has become an athletic stadium in the Nishikyogoku Sports Park, and is the stadium where Kyoto Sanga F.C. of the J-League sometimes holds official matches.
However, Sanga has a new stadium, Sanga Stadium, being built in Kameoka in 2020, so more matches will be held there in the future.
Nishikyogoku Athletic Park Athletic Park is located in Nishikyogoku Athletic Park, which also has a baseball field and other facilities.
Getting to the Stadium
By Train
From JR Kyoto Station, if you are going to the Nishikyogoku Sports Park Athletic Field, you will need to take the Hankyu Kyoto Line to Nishikyogoku Station, which is the closest station to the venue.
This line does not run in the direction of JR Kyoto Station, so you will need to change trains once from JR Kyoto Station.
From Kyoto Station, take the subway Karasuma Line for two stops and get off at Shijo.
Transfer to the Hankyu Kyoto Line.
The Hankyu Kyoto line goes to Karasuma station, and it takes about 5 minutes from Karasuma station to Nishikyogoku, so if you include the transfer time, it will take about 20 minutes from Kyoto station.
The stadium is visible from the station, but it is a 10-minute walk.
By Bus
Take Kyoto City Bus No. 73 from Bus Terminal C5 at Kyoto Station.
Get off at Nishikyogoku Undo Koen-mae and walk for about 5 minutes.
About the Stadium
Takebishi Stadium Kyoto is a track and field type stadium. Therefore, if you want to watch soccer, the track will block the proximity of the field and the seats.
In the case of an athletic stadium, it is best to buy seats as far away from the field as possible so that you can easily watch fast-evolving sports such as soccer and rugby.
