Toyota Stadium

Toyota Stadium is the home of the Nagoya Grampus and also the home of Japan's national soccer team. In 2019, the stadium hosted the Rugby World Cup. The stadium also hosts matches of the Toyota Motor Velbrits, a top league rugby team.

Shaded & Covered Seating

Seats in the main grandstand will not have the sun shining in front of them during the daytime, but on the other side of the stand, the back of the second-floor seats will be in the shade, but the first-floor seats will not be able to avoid the sun while the sun is high.

Access

From Nagoya Station and Meitetsu Nagoya Station

It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Nagoya Station or Meitetsu Nagoya Station to Toyota Stadium. There are several ways to get there, as follows

#1: Nagoya Station
Take the Higashiyama Subway Line at Nagoya Station and go to Fushimi Station (about 5 minutes). Transfer to the Maizuru Subway Line/Meitetsu Toyota Line at Fushimi Station and go to Toyota-shi Station (about 45 minutes). Get off at Toyota-shi Station and walk 15 minutes to the stadium.

#2: Meitetsu Nagoya Station
From Meitetsu Nagoya Station, take the Meitetsu Rapid Limited Express to Chiryu Station (about 20 minutes), Take the Meitetsu Mikawa Line from Chiryu Station to Toyota City Station (approx. 25 min.) Get off at Toyota-shi Station and walk 15 minutes to the stadium

Compared to other countries such as the U.S., Japanese events allow people to bring their own belongings, and there are few venues that do not allow backpacks.

Professional Sports Teams in Aichi

1. "Getting There & Around" Toyota, Okazaki, Chiryu, Kariya

If you are going to Toyota from Tokyo, you can either take the Shinkansen to Toyohashi, change to a private train and arrive at Toyota, or rent a car in Toyohashi as it is more convenient to have a car.
In the case of Kariya, take the Nozomi train to Nagoya and take the local train to Kariya in less than 30 minutes.
In Aichi Prefecture, there is the Central Japan International Airport (Centrair), which has many international flights.
For domestic flights, there are flights from Kyushu (including Okinawa), Shikoku, and Sapporo, Hakodate, Sendai, and Akita in the north.
However, it takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours by train from Centrair to Toyota, which is a bit far.

2. "Where to Stay" in Toyota, Okazaki, Chiryu, Kariya

While there are a few hotels in Toyota, it is not an area with that many accommodations.
If you are in Kariya, you will have a wider choice of hotels if you use Nagoya as a base.

3. "What to Do & See" in Toyota, Okazaki, Chiryu, Kariya

Toyota is the city of Toyota, so the Toyota Museum and other Toyota-related facilities are tourist attractions.
In Aichi Prefecture, Nagoya is the biggest tourist spot.
Nagoya Castle, Tokugawa-en Garden, Legoland, and Linia Tetsudokan are all based in Nagoya.
From Toyota, Nagoya is about an hour away by train. Kariya to Nagoya is about 30 minutes.
