Edion Stadium Hiroshima is a multi-purpose stadium located in Hiroshima Koiki Park and is the home of J-League club Sanfrecce Hiroshima. The city has also hosted international events such as the AFC Asian Cup in 1992 and the Asian Games in 1994.
Getting to the Stadium
Edion Stadium Hiroshima is located in the northwestern part of Hiroshima City and is conveniently accessible from Hiroshima City using the Astram streetcar. Traffic congestion around the stadium is expected on days when Sanfrecce Hiroshima matches are held, so be careful when accessing the stadium by car.
Train
From Hondori Station in Kamiyacho, take the 37-minute Astram to Koiki Koen-mae Station, which is about a 10-minute walk to Edion Stadium Hiroshima. It is convenient to use Hondori Station from the Peace Memorial Park area, and Kencho-mae Station or Johoku Station from the Hiroshima Castle area. The fare from Hondori Station and Kencho-mae Station is 490 yen each way, and 450 yen from Johoku Station. Also, on days when a Sanfrecce Hiroshima game is being held, a "Sanfrecce Support Ticket" that allows unlimited rides for the whole day is available starting four hours before kickoff. The fare is a reasonable 630 yen for adults and 320 yen for children.
You can also see the stadium from the Astram train, so you won't get lost from Koiki Koenmae Station.
Bus
From Hiroshima Station, a direct bus service to Edion Stadium is available by reservation only, in cooperation with Nishitetsu Travel Agency. The round-trip fare is 1,600 yen for adults and 800 yen for children, and is only available when the game is held on a weekend or national holiday. This is as of the 2020 season, so please check the official Sanfrecce Hiroshima website for details.
A direct shuttle bus service is available on match days from platform 4 at Yokogawa Station, two stops next to Hiroshima Station. The bus departs every 10 minutes starting four hours before the game, and at any time after the game. It takes about 20 minutes and costs 380 yen for adults and 190 yen for children.
Car
It is about a 20-minute drive from the center of Hiroshima City. Around the stadium, there are general parking lots and the Park North Parking Lot on a first-come, first-served basis (no reservation required), and the Park Parking Lot and the Park South Parking Lot on an advance reservation basis. About the Stadium
Edion Stadium Hiroshima is surrounded by mountains and the weather is changeable. The arched roof that gives the stadium its nickname, "Big Arch," only covers part of the Main Stand side, so you might want to pack rain gear just in case.
