Miyanomori Ski Jumping Stadium was used as one of the venues for the Sapporo Winter Olympic Games and as the venue for the 2007 FIS Nordic Ski Championships on Normal Hill. In the 70 meter jump at the Sapporo Winter Olympics, the Japanese team has won gold, silver, and bronze medals, taking 1st to 3rd place.
