When you stay at a hotel in Obihiro, you can choose the area around Obihiro station or Tokachigawa Onsen hot spring area. If you drive a car, it would be a good idea to stay in the Tokachigawa Onsen hot spring area. If you stay around the station area, it is very convenient to access shops and restaurants. It is only about 10 minutes by taxi to Ban'ei Racecourse if you want to see the special horse racing only in Obihiro.
