Former Hokkaido Government Office Building (Red Brick Office)

The Former Hokkaido Government Office Building, known as the Red Brick Office.
Built in 1888, it is a brick building in the American Neo-Baroque style and is designated as an important cultural property of Japan.

Closed: Year-end and New Year holidays
The museum will be closed from October 1, 2019 (Tuesday) until 2022 for renovation, but will be partially open in the fall of 2021. Please check the official website for details.

Directions

It is only a 10-minute walk from the south exit of Sapporo Station, so it is easily accessible. From the nearby Sapporo Grand Hotel, depending on the room, you can even see the old main building of the Hokkaido Government Office.
